Read our guidelines

The 2024-25 financial year allocation for kick-start funding offered businesses a share of $13 million in funding to procure up to 15 EVs, as well as smart chargers.

Future Rounds

We will continue to support eligible NSW businesses and organisations to transition their fleets to EV. More details on future rounds will be updated as the program develops. Sign up to receive updates.

Who kick-start funding is for

Kick-start funding is suitable for businesses that are interested in piloting a few vehicles or for smaller fleets. It was open to any ABN holder that had non-private registrations for:

  • at least 3 vehicles (electric or non-electric) in NSW, or
  • one licensed taxi in NSW.

The eligibility criteria was expanded to include:

  • kick-start funding can be provided for up to 15 EVs (and optional smart chargers).
  • Individual truck operators (applicants with an ABN and at least one truck registered in NSW under that ABN) are now eligible for kick-start funding.

About the funding

Vehicles registered and chargers purchased between 24 July 2024 and 30 June 2025 were eligible for the standard incentive amounts outlined in the Guidelines.
