Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-30 implementation update

The Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-30 implementation updates present a summary of the policies under the Net Zero Plan and the latest emissions reduction projections for NSW.

Based on these projections, the NSW Government has adopted emissions reduction targets to help households, businesses, and governments achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Immediate action is needed to tackle the impacts of climate change, and that’s why we have extended our targets to reduce emissions by 70% by 2035, compared to 2005 levels. This supports our goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, together with our 50% reduction target by 2030.

NSW can attract international investment, industry partnerships, and talent by seizing the opportunity to be at the forefront of the low carbon global economy.
