Choose Circular procurement funding

The Choose Circular program leverages NSW Government purchasing power to drive demand for goods with recycled content, shifting to a more sustainable economy.

A total funding pool of $200,000 is available as part of Round 3 of the Choose Circular program. Funding will help eligible NSW Government agencies implement recycled content preferencing and reporting requirements in procurement processes, in line with the NSW Recycled Content Reporting Guide.

Eligible NSW Government agencies can apply for funding of up to $30,000 (excluding GST) for projects that support implementation of these requirements. Funding is capped at $30,000 per agency and cannot be used for internal staffing costs.

Applications are open now. The program will remain open until 27 November 2026 or earlier if available funding has been allocated. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.

The funding may be used for the following types of projects:

• capability building and training 
• research and internal system stocktake 
• digital transformation and assets upgrades 
• updates to processes and procurement procedures 
• verification and traceability projects.

Examples of eligible funded activities:

• consultant fees 
• contractors including software and technology developers 
• software upgrades and licences (e.g. Salesforce, PowerBI, SAP). 

Eligibility

To be eligible for funding, your organisation must be a NSW Government agency subject to Action 22 of the Net Zero Government Operations Policy. To check eligibility, refer to the List of reporting agencies.

To apply, complete the application form (PDF, 97 KB) and email it to us by 5pm on 27 November 2026. Eligible applicants will be contacted within two weeks to discuss their proposal.
