Decarbonising your business can help you achieve long-term benefits, including:
- saving money on your energy bills by reducing energy consumption
- improving operations and productivity while understanding your current carbon emissions impact
- securing your brand's future and attracting investments
- becoming a catalyst for change through emissions reduction to help protect our planet for future generations.
The NSW Government is committed to supporting businesses to decarbonise. We’re investing $22 million to help businesses make simple low-cost improvements and take practical steps to accelerate the shift towards net zero emissions.
This funding is part of the NSW Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-2030 to reduce emissions by 70% by 2035 and achieve net zero by 2050.
The image below shows how your business can benefit from support for your decarbonisation journey.
Start your decarbonisation journey today
We’re here to support you throughout your entire decarbonisation journey. You can access some of our offers now and more will be available in the near future.
Developing a net zero plan and taking action can help you improve your competitiveness in the global transition to net zero.
We’re developing guidance to help you identify the practical actions required for achieving net zero and how to implement these in a standardised, consistent, and effective way. This will help you start your net zero journey, identify gaps within your established net zero strategy and provide direction on the potential next steps.
Net Zero Pathways pilot
Since 2021, we’ve worked with over 50 organisations and multiple service providers to develop net zero plans as part of Net Zero Pathways pilot. See how McPhersons benefited by participating in the pilot.

Having robust energy data will empower your business to make informed, long-term investment decisions. By taking the appropriate steps, energy metering and monitoring systems can help you reduce your energy costs by 5% to 15%. To learn more about how Tip Top installed submeters and reduced their energy consumption watch our case study.
Our metering and monitoring planning initiative will fund up to $15,000 for suppliers to identify gaps in your metering systems and advise how to improve your systems and cut energy use and costs.
We’re providing financial support through our metering plan implementation grants to help improve your metering, monitoring and energy management. You can apply for a metering plan implementation grant and receive up to $100,000 to cover up to 50% of the costs of installing an energy metering and monitoring system.

Electrification of heating systems is one of the most important strategies for decarbonisation. To achieve this, heat pumps are emerging as the key solution.
We’re developing tools to help you identify the technical and economic barriers to electrify heating systems that will be available soon.
These tools will help you assess the technical feasibility of installing heat pumps for secure and sustainable heating. You can reduce emissions, energy costs and reliance on less efficient technologies.
