The NSW Government is launching round 2 of its Net Zero Planning Grant, unlocking further opportunities for businesses across the state to take action on climate change and to help NSW achieve net zero emissions targets.
The $2 million grant is part of the $22 million Business Decarbonisation Program, which provides financial assistance for net zero planning, metering activities and technical feasibility studies, and develops capability building resources to support industry upskilling.
Round 2 of the Net Zero Planning Grant offers up to $25,000 to cover up to half the costs of key net zero planning activities such as the development of greenhouse gas inventories, climate risks and opportunity assessments, identify cost savings measures and fuel switching opportunities, emission reduction action planning and target setting.
The funding can also be used to support certain businesses that hold an Environment Protection Licence to develop their first Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan in order to comply with new NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) requirements.
The grant is open to eligible commercial and industrial businesses across all industry sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, transport and logistics, retail, and aged care residential services, subject to the grant's selection criteria.
Grant recipients will utilise the Net Zero Business Guide, a practical resource shaped by real-world business experience from more than 50 organisations.
The Guide is publicly available and brings together leading national and international frameworks in one place, helping businesses understand where they are now, identify gaps, and take a structured approach toward net zero.

This new round of funding follows the success of round 1 which saw $1.3 million awarded to 46 businesses across the state, including pet food manufacturer Lyka, commercial laundry operator Alsco Uniforms and cosmetics manufacturer Delta Laboratories.
