The Submetering Grant helps NSW businesses install new permanent submeters to better understand their energy use. Unlike standard utility meters, submeters provide detailed data on equipment and process performance, enabling targeted energy performance improvements. Even a modest investment in metering can deliver long-term financial benefits.
It can also position your business to access Energy Security Safeguard incentives and other programs that require a minimum level of metering infrastructure.
About the Submetering Grant
Round 2 of the Submetering Grant helps eligible NSW businesses install and commission permanent energy submeters. You can apply for up to $20,000, covering up to 50% of project costs.
What’s included in the grant funding
Round 2 of the Submetering Grant provides funding for:
- the installation and commissioning of permanent submeters that are required for measuring energy performance.
- hardware and integration with software required for energy monitoring.
For full details about what is and is not included in the Grant, please read the funding guidelines.
