We’re investing in researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs across NSW to fast-track their emerging clean technology solutions.

NSW-based projects that have a proof of concept and are ready to commercialise are a critical part of this process.

Together we can turbocharge commercial technologies that will help NSW reach net zero by 2050. 


About the grant

We are providing funding to eligible NSW businesses to pilot and demonstrate lab-proven clean technologies to accelerate their commercial readiness. 

The objectives of this grant are to:

  • repeatedly test the technical and commercial feasibility, viability and/or compliance of a product or project
  • accelerate and expand the research, development and commercialisation of low emissions technologies that show potential to become scalable, replicable and cost-effective
  • create an ecosystem that can develop the capability to foster clean technology innovation
  • attract world-class clean technology companies and innovations to NSW, making NSW into a clean technology superpower.

Who can apply

This grant is available to eligible organisations that require support to commercialise their clean technology innovations. They include but are not limited to:

  • small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs)
  • technology developers
  • innovators
  • start-ups
  • research organisations
  • academia with a spin-out company.

You can apply for between $500,000 and $5 million funding per project for up to 50% of eligible project costs.

This is a single stage application process. You must submit your application using our grant management system (GMS). Find out more in the ‘How to apply’ section.

This grant is part of the Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative, to help fast-track emissions reductions and build the technologies that we need to further our renewable transition.

Types of projects we will fund

We are looking to fund projects with potential to advance clean technology solutions toward commercialisation. 

Funding can be used for eligible projects that have a proof of concept and are ready for commercialisation. 

Types of projects or activities include but are not limited to:

  • technology development
  • construction of specific testing infrastructure
  • prototyping
  • product verification
  • demonstration and deployment
  • front end engineering design (FEED)
  • technical feasibility studies.
