Electric vehicle kerbside charging grants

We are expanding public electric vehicle (EV) charging on kerbside power poles and the verge, as well as in council and commercial carparks. This will help meet growing demand for EV charging, support drivers who can’t charge at home, and ensure NSW is EV ready.

Round 3 of the EV kerbside charging grants provides $5 million in co-funding to eligible charge point operators to install public EV charging infrastructure in 37 priority local government areas.

This round is part of a $10 million investment announced in 2026 to expand public EV charging across NSW.

Making sure NSW is EV ready

Through rounds 1 and 2, we have allocated $6.9 million towards the installation of over 1,000 kerbside charge ports across 28 local government areas (LGAs) in NSW.

All these chargers will be powered by 100% renewable electricity and will be available to the public 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
