We’re investing $12 million to help NSW businesses maximise the benefits of installing an energy metering and monitoring system.
This includes 3 initiatives to support each stage of your metering and monitoring journey.

Metering and monitoring planning initiative
This initiative connects your business with specialists to assess your facility’s metering and monitoring needs and develop a plan to improve your system.

Metering implementation grants
Installing energy metering and monitoring systems is key to understanding and cutting a business’s energy use. So far, we have supported businesses to achieve this by providing funding through the:
- Submetering Grant: funding up to 50% of the cost of purchasing and installing submeters on equipment, up to $20,000 per site.
- Metering Plan Implementation Grant: funding up to 50% of the cost of implementing the recommendations from eligible energy metering and monitoring plans, up to $100,000 per site.
Energy performance services grant
The Energy Performance Services Grant will support eligible businesses to identify their next steps after setting up their metering systems and collecting data. This could include support for software platforms, data analysis or reporting services, behaviour change, and skills development to make the most of your data.
