- provide businesses with more choices to increase revenue and reduce emissions.
Along with the NSW Hydrogen Strategy, our hydrogen hubs and Hume Hydrogen Highway initiatives will help create the framework needed to maximise these opportunities.
This is part of the Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-2030, which is the foundation for NSW's action on climate change and goal to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

We have developed the regulatory guide and map to help hydrogen users and producers understand their regulatory obligations throughout the hydrogen supply chain in NSW. This guide was developed in consultation with other NSW Government agencies and regulators.

Hydrogen guideline
The hydrogen guideline supports the implementation of the NSW Hydrogen Strategy. It provides information on the planning pathways available to support the development of a hydrogen industry in NSW. The guideline is published by the Department of Planning and Environment.
HyFAQ: Interactive hydrogen FAQ tool
HyFAQ is an interactive handbook to learn more about the role of hydrogen in Australia’s current and future energy mix. It includes information on hydrogen’s basic properties, uses and applications, safety and regulations and economic benefits. The tool has been developed by the CSIRO and Australian Hydrogen Council.
HyStandards
HyStandards has been developed by Standards Australia and CSIRO to provide industry, government and community a means of identifying relevant hydrogen standards through a visual representation of hydrogen facility scenarios. Users can click on parts of each scenario and see a list of the relevant standards, with a description of the scope and a link to purchase a copy of the standard.
