Do these 3 things and you could save over $200 on average* on your energy bills.

* Average savings are over $200 when switching to the cheapest energy plan after using Energy Made Easy. Everyone’s individual circumstances will be different. Your savings could be higher if you’re eligible for NSW Government support.

1. Check you’re on the best energy plan

There are 2 different ways you can check.

Contact your energy retailer

Call your energy retailer (the company that sends you your energy bills) and ask about a better energy plan or discounts. They’ll tell you if you’re not on the cheapest plan and how to switch.

Compare energy plans

Use the Australian Government website Energy Made Easy to find the best plan. A simple switch could save you hundreds. If you need help using the website, call Service NSW on 13 77 88 or visit a Service NSW Centre.

2. Find financial support

Check if you’re eligible for a NSW Government energy rebate or crises support payment.

3. Do simple actions at home

Small actions add up to make a big impact on your energy bills.

A closed door to keep draughts out

Close doors, windows, blinds and curtains during the day

This keeps heat out during hot days.

A window with a curtain

Open windows at night

This lets in the cool evening breeze.

Ceiling fan

Use fans before air conditioners

Fans only cost about 2 cents an hour to run and can make the room feel about 3°C cooler. Set ceiling fans to spin counter clockwise (summer setting).

Air conditioner

Set your air conditioner between 23-26°C

Every degree higher can save about 10% on your air conditioning bill.

Door with an arrow indicating opening or closing motion

Shut doors to unused rooms

Only cool in the spaces you're using.

Check your on the best energy plan, find financial support, and do simple actions at home.

Usually, to save energy, I open the fan first, and then in the end, I open the air condition that save a lot of energy. And we always keep the air condition 24 degrees, 23 degrees. That's also save energy.

With the fridge, we save energy by using less items in the fridge. For example, waters or drinks, not many, because that means it's used less energy in the fridge.

To save energy, we turn off all the unnecessary lights when we leave the room. We keep the TV on and we put all the lights off at night.

Take control of your energy bills, today. You.
