Upgrading the electricity network to power our state now and for the next generation
Working with communities, industry, and First Nations peoples, we are leading a once-in-a-generation upgrade of the NSW electricity network to power our state with affordable, clean and reliable energy for everyone. The Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap (Roadmap), sets out how we transitioning the electricity network to one that will keep the lights on and put downward pressure on energy bills for years to come. The energy transition is already well underway in NSW. We already have enough projects to get us more than halfway to our 2030 renewable energy generation goal.
Our move to a more affordable, clean and reliable electricity network is bringing secure, long-term jobs to NSW, creating new apprenticeships, and empowering businesses to bring economic opportunities to our local communities.

What is a renewable energy zone?
We’re accelerating investment in renewable energy by building five renewable energy zones (REZs) across NSW. REZs are powered with wind and solar and linked to new storage and transmission lines. The delivery of each REZ is being led by EnergyCo in their role as infrastructure planner. Find out more about the entities delivering the roadmap.
