One third of NSW residents are currently receiving an energy rebate. If you’re one of them, you may be eligible to swap your rebate for a free solar system or energy efficient upgrades.
These solar systems and upgrades will help cut your energy bills, unlocking long term energy savings of up to $600 a year. These savings far exceed your annual energy rebate of $285. You will stop receiving this rebate for 10 years from when you are approved to participate.
With three offers available, find out which one is right for you.
For homeowners - rebate swap for solar
If you are an eligible homeowner-occupier you can now swap your Low Income Household Rebate for a free, fully installed, 3 kilowatt solar system.

For households not suitable for solar - rebate swap for energy upgrades
If you currently receive a Low Income Household Rebate and are not eligible for our solar offers, you can get a free, no-obligation energy assessment.
The assessment could help you find ways to cut your energy bill through energy efficient appliances or minor home upgrades. You can then swap your energy rebate for one or more of the recommended upgrades. These can be valued up to $4,000.
This offer will help eligible renters, apartment dwellers or social housing tenants identify cost effective ways to reduce bills and improve energy efficiency. The recommended upgrades could include energy efficient dryers, air-conditioners and hot water systems, as well as window shading and draught sealing.
