Find out more on how to get started:
1. Contact an approved supplier for a quote
They will be able to check if you are eligible for the offer and provide you with a quote, showing the discount applied. It's a good idea to request quotes from more than one supplier to get the best deal. Air conditioner models and quotes may vary between suppliers.
2. Choose the product that best suits your needs
An approved supplier can show you the different options they offer, and you should decide if that product is appropriate for your home or small business needs. Consider factors such as product efficiency, noise, warranties, and the proposed location of the unit.
3. Complete the required documentation
Your approved supplier will give you a nomination form. You must approve your quote and sign the nomination form before your installation is complete.
4. Tradesperson from your approved supplier installs the unit
A licenced tradesperson affiliated with your approved supplier will install the new unit and answers any questions you have about use and maintenance.
5. Approved supplier disposes of old equipment
The licenced tradesperson will adequately dispose of the old equipment, as well as any other materials being replaced.
Following the installation of your energy efficient air conditioner, you may be contacted to verify the work was completed according to the Energy Savings Scheme requirements. If you have any questions related to after-care, please contact your approved supplier.
FAQ
This scheme is available to most households and small businesses in NSW. However, there are many factors that determine whether a discounted energy-efficient air-conditioning unit is right for you. You need to live in an area serviced by an approved supplier. If upgrading, the air-conditioner will also need to deliver energy-savings compared to your current equipment. For any further questions about eligibility, talk to your approved supplier. They will be able to help determine if you are eligible and which of their products is right for you.
You should consider the costs of purchasing and installing an energy-efficient air conditioner. Costs may vary depending on the model chosen, and if there is a need for additional work to support the installation.
By working with an approved supplier, you will be able to access energy-efficient equipment at a discounted price. There is no commitment or costs involved in getting a quote from approved supplier. We recommend asking your approved supplier what discount has been applied on the quote and to shop around to see if it is competitive. If you decide to go ahead with a quote, you will need to make a minimum payment upfront to access the discounted air-conditioning unit.
