The NSW Government’s commitment
The NSW Government is committed to delivering sustainable and regulated use and access to diverse and reliable energy resources for the people of NSW.
Used by electricians and Accredited Service Providers, the service and installation rules for NSW cover the requirements for the connection of electrical installations to the distribution network.
The NSW Public Lighting Code is being updated to support service standards and make it consistent with the National Electricity Law, and changes to the role of distribution networks.
Only an appropriately qualified accredited service provider (ASP), acting on behalf of the distributor can complete contestable works.
The Department is responsible for the oversight of safety and licensing of pipelines. Stage one is the Authority to Survey to investigate pipeline routes.
