Installing small scale renewable energy systems in NSW

In NSW, customers are able to connect a solar PV system or wind turbine to the grid. Check with your distributor and determine their connection and application requirements before you proceed. You should also familiarise yourself with the range of information available on all aspects of installing a solar system (see contacts below)

There are several benefits of installing a small-scale renewable energy system, including:

  • reduced electricity bills by installing a net metered system;
  • alternative financial incentives offered by some energy retailers; and
  • financial incentives through Commonwealth Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.
