NSW Public Lighting Code Review

Last updated: 22 Dec 2010

The NSW Public Lighting Code (140kb PDF) was issued by the former Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability on 1 January 2006.

The Code governs the provision of public lighting in NSW and is designed to help clarify the relationship between the Public Lighting Service Providers and Public Lighting Customers.

A review of the Code has included a Discussion Paper and consultation which has resulted in the preparation of a new Draft NSW Public Lighting Code (170kb PDF). The Draft NSW Public Lighting Code includes a reporting regime that will provide greater information to both customers and the Australian Energy Regulator.

An Explanatory Paper (222kb PDF) outlines the policy responses to issues raised during the review process and the approach.

The Department will receive any comments on the Draft NSW Public Lighting Code. Comments may be made to the Department by email at public.lighting@dwe.nsw.gov.au until Friday 25 February 2011.
